This route starts from the Southern end of the trail, so the majority of the trail is descent. Views consist of rocky ledges, green-faced hillsides and high desert sage brush. The trail follows through abundant forested areas for shade. In the Summer, this trail is popular with ATV's, dirt bikes, and ornery cows. Be alert for any of these, especially a particularly rude cow named Regina Bovina. Closed to all but snowshoers from May 15 to Nov 15.
